A27 Cote Street to A280 Interchange – Resurfacing
I am writing to advise that Volkerfitzpatrick in conjunction with A-one+, on behalf of Highways England will be carrying out resurfacing of the A27 between Cote Street and the A280 Clapham Interchange to address carriageway deterioration.
In order to carry out these works as efficiently and as safely as possible, work will be carried out under separate full east and west bound carriageway closures, from Monday 24 June 2019 until Friday 23 August 2019 overnight between 8pm and 6am. The works will be Monday to Friday though weekends may be used as a contingency. The works are weather dependent.
Series of full carriageway closures.
Dates and timings
Westbound carriageway closure between Offington Roundabout and A280 Clapham Interchange
Monday 24 June 2019 to Friday 19 July 2019 (inclusive)
8pm to 6am
Eastbound carriageway closure between A280 Clapham Interchange and Offington Roundabout.
Monday 22 July 2019 to Friday 23 August 2019 (inclusive)
8pm to 6am
Diversions: clearly signed diversions will be in place during all closures utilising local routes, suitable for all types of vehicles when full closures of the carriageway are in place.
Eastbound: Vehicles travelling eastbound will be diverted off the A27 at Clapham Interchange onto the A280 Long Furlong north. Follow the A280 to Findon roundabout. Take the 3rd exit onto the A24 southbound until reaching Offington Roundabout where they can re-join the A27 and continue their journey eastbound.
Westbound: Follow the above diversion in reverse.
Emergency vehicles will always be allowed access through the works.
Residents with direct access and egress only from the A27 will be escorted through the works from the manned closure points at Offington Roundabout or Clapham Interchange. There may be a short wait whilst the works area is made safe.
The phased works will require the closure of access to and from side roads within the works area.
